Positive Parenting for Toddlers Workshop ( suitable for parents of toddlers – 4, not at school)
Oct 1, 2022 @ 9:15 am - 12:45 pm
£60Hello there!
Welcome; this is the first face-to-face workshop I’ve offered in the two years since the pandemic. From now on, I’ve felt there was a strong message about providing support, compassion, and community. Therefore, let’s come together to share and connect.
This workshop is an opportunity to support your understanding of your toddler’s needs, behaviour, and development. And most importantly, to overcome the challenges of toddlerhood and to feel empowered in your parenting!
Right now, you may:
- Be lost in information and doubt your parenting a lot?
- Do you wonder why your toddler has such “big feelings”, tantrums, meltdowns, or can be anxious and does not want to leave your side sometimes?
- Feel like a mean parent and fed up with saying no all the time
- Sometimes you wonder why they kick, hit, or bite, and consequently, you don’t know how to help.
- Want to learn more calm and gentle techniques to enable connection and promote self-regulation?
Positive Parenting for your Toddler, we will share:
- Common misconceptions about toddler behaviour
- Some simple neuroscience and the characteristics of “normal” development
- How to build a solid and secure foundation for your toddler to thrive.
- Your toddler’s temperament
- Gentle and calm techniques to manage difficult situations and big feelings (tantrums and other behaviours such as biting, hitting, throwing, and separation anxiety).
- Ideas on regulating yourself in those “hot moments” to be more present and compassionate in your parenting (we are all just human).
- The true purpose of play, the power of praise, and how 10 minutes a day of effective play can promote self-regulation and connection
- Lots of time for questions

About Me
Being a parent is like weaving an ever-changing, unique, connected tapestry. We are never sure of the thread’s depth of colour, which may make the best pattern or shape. Therefore, we all need support in the daily challenges of parenting. Like you, I’ve experienced all the joys, ups, downs, and frustrations of being a parent from baby to adulthood.
I’ve worked as a clinician for 33 years and 31 years in the NHS. Until three years ago, I worked in CAMHS as a Specialist Clinician. I have extensive experience working across the 0-18 age range, offering assessments and interventions for most mental health disorders and complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. During my time in the NHS, I completed many training pieces, including two evidence-based parenting pieces of training, the Incredible Years and Solihull Parenting Training. Still, despite the training, I know there is ALWAYS something to learn, and I want to share what I know so far.
I hope to share it soon with you; with love, Catherine.
Contact me if you would like a bespoke workshop for your workplace or have a group of friends who would like a particular topic covered. I’ve offered Clifton College, Stand North Wales, Newbury Racecourse Nursery, GE, Manor House Nursery, and Windmill Hill City Farm seminars. These are some topics covered: OCD, ASD, Self Harm, Tourette’s, Managing and Understanding Anxiety, Anger Transformation and Sleep.
