Positive Discipline Parent Workshop, Let’s Feel Connected

Mar 14, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 12:45 pm

Positive Discipline

Parenting is one of the most challenging and joyful experiences in life. I know that every parent wants to feel connected to their child and yet we often feel disconnected and tired. Do you feel you are:

  • Nagging all the time?
  • Shouting a lot?
  • Always using time out and it’s not working?
  • Seeking other parenting interventions but unsure whats the most effective
  • Wanting to feel close but not sure how to enable this

Do you want to change and be more conscious within your parenting?

So let’s prevent the conflict, arguing, the nagging and learn some Positive Discipline Strategies for a “win-win” for everyone and most of all feel  connected and close to your child/ren, attend my workshop to learn:

  • How to use parental attention and presence, play, encouragement, and empathy effectively.
  • Learn Active Listening and problem solving
  • Focus on setting limits without using threats.
  • How to implement effective family rules/meetings
  • Understand your child’s brain and some simple neuroscience and normal child development
  • Manage Big Feelings
  • Understand your parenting Style
  • Time to ask questions and be with other parents who are in the same position as you!

Details of the Workshop

No more than 9 parents/carers attend ( no children). They are small and intimate. In my experience ( and feedback)  a smaller group enables you to ask questions, share and feel safe.

Why would you want to learn and share with me?

I am a parent and shared all the joys, up and downs from baby to adulthood, we survived all my mistakes to reach a place of compassion and connection. Alongside that,  I happened to work in the NHS for 31 years and 18 years working with children, parents, and families with complex emotional and behavioral issues ( CAMHS).  My workshops integrate both experiences. I want to promote the sense of being a “good enough and connected parent ”  the one that learns to trust your intuition rather than the perfect one on social media, in books and in our thoughts. They are grounded in neuroscience, attachment,  and evidenced-based parenting theory too.
